your day, YOUR FACE

Quick Seven (7) Minute Read

Picture

Items to anticipate when planning your  day's face of makeup can make-or-break a bride's day if done incorrectly. There is much to consider, but here is our quick list to help create your natural and flawless look:

Time.
This is the first and probably the most important aspect to remember when you are deciding whether or not to use a professional makeup artist. Will time permit to allow an amateur or aspiring makeup artist to do your face on one of the most important days of your life? Do you have the patience to sit in a chair for about two hours to apply or would you prefer to have a professional  get your face completed in about 30 minutes. Let us be honest, you know the results will be exactly what you are looking for if not perfect for your day? We believe that hiring a professional MUA or make up artist can be very beneficial. Read on below to learn a few more reasons why.

Money.
How can hiring an MUA for your wedding save money? Choosing to not hire a professional might seem like an effective cost saving measure for your wedding budget, however we know to well that this  is not the case. There are many money saving benefits by hiring a pro makeup artist. You won’t have to buy an entire wedding day makeup kit, which could run you upwards of $500. Your pro makeup artist will come with a full kit of wedding day cosmetics plus a set of false lashes, so if your makeup artist charges $150, you will have saved $350 already on average. We understand that time is money and using a pro makeup artist will not only save time and money, but stress on your wedding day as well.

Stress.
When was the last time you had your makeup done by a friend and family member?  I’m guessing it’s either "never" or not within  the past two (2) years. Skin changes over time.  Although it can seem like a fun idea,  a friend or relative who offers to do your wedding day makeup can quickly turn into a very stressful situation for both. Tensions tend to run high on your wedding day and even if you are naturally calm, there is much idle time to  allow your mind to think of all the action happening around during the makeup process. It can turn into a stressful situation if your friend lacks makeup confidence and those results are not being achieved.

Quick Nine (9) Minute Read

With so many wedding dress styles to choose from, it’s nearly impossible to know what style suits you best.

A wedding dress should not only be suitable for the venue and weather, it should also flatter your figure and style. Breezy lightweight fabrics are ideal for outdoor weddings and warm weather, while satin, velvet and layered wedding gowns work well in winter. You can always step up the drama by choosing a darker color or accessorizing with a stylish wrap or stole. One of the latest trends in wedding dresses is choosing a different color, such as light pink or blue. You don’t have to stick to tradition – find a dress that really speaks to you and shows off your personality. While trying on bridal dresses, look for patterns that flatter your figure.

Strapless gowns are a traditional favorite that suit most women, but it has to be tailored to match your proportions. If you are tall and slender, choose a wedding gown that fits you well and amplifies your curves to create the perfect silhouette. If you are short, avoid dresses with too many layers and heavy fabric as this can make you look shorter. For girls with full figures, tight fitting dresses, or those with corsets are ideal. If you are slender, consider dresses that emphasize your femininity by creating a mermaid silhouette.

  1. VINTAGE BOHO.
The vintage boho bridal style encompasses bridal style of eras past and mixes it with a laidback, modern vibe. Drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature and making it your own, the vintage boho bride has a one-of-a-kind style.

  2. CLASSIC PREP.
The classic prep bridal style plays on classic, family and wedding traditions, but with a personal touch. Simple silhouettes and traditional styling are a large part of the classic prep bridal style.

  3. MODERN MINIMALIST.
The modern minimalist bridal style is all about clean lines and simplicity. Less is more when it comes to the modern minimalist bridal style.

  4. SEXY GLAM.
The sexy glam bridal style is full of stunning, sparkling style and attention-grabbing details. Bold beading and dramatic cutouts lend itself perfectly to the sexy glam bridal style.

  5. DREAM PRINCESS.
The dream princess bridal style is all about creating a fairytale moment. Feminine details, light fabric and dreamy silhouettes all bring the dream princess bridal style to life.

  6. RUSTIC CHIC.
The rustic chic bridal style ties romantic and natural details together effortlessly. Dreamy lace and soft silhouettes are the perfect addition to any rustic chic bridal style.

FOR THE SOON TO BE GROOM!

Quick Eight (8) Minute Read

Picture
Most brides are very conscious about their groom looking flawless from head to toe on their wedding day. Ron Sherrod from Downtown Chicago's Sweeney Taud Studio boutique barbershop knows that standing next to such a flawless bride, a groom should also keep his appearance in mind. Remember that you will have your pictures taken hundreds of times, photos that you will cherish years after the wedding day ends.

Since your face will be plastered all over the wedding album, wedding day grooming is an essential aspect that you can't overlook. First things first, let's start with your hairstyle. Check out these neat, trendy, and hip hairstyles fit for grooms and spot your favorite.

THE SHORT AND SLICK
The simplest do that works every time. This haircut exudes charm and makes your groom look refined. We would say the look is perfect for grooms with short, straight hair. Add some hair gel for a slick finish or wax for a matte look.
The dos and don'ts of wedding facial hair

Aside from the hair on top of your head, the hair that grows on your face must not be overlooked as it determines your whole look. Can a small patch of hair really change how a man looks? Yes. A clean cut can make a man look more polished and distinguished while a full beard instills that rugged and macho aura. To keep things simple, just follow our simple dos and don'ts for grooms who want to rock wedding facial hair.

  1. DON'T: DRASTICALLY CHANGE YOUR FACIAL HAIR BEFORE THE WEDDING.
If you show up with a trimmed beard daily, don't suddenly show up with a full beard for the wedding. The same goes with moustaches. As trendy as it might seem or as cool as it looks on other people, you still want to look like you on your wedding day.

  2. DO: TRY OUT DIFFERENT LOOKS  TO FIND OUT WHICH SUITS YOU BEST.
We still think that you should experiment with several different facial hair looks and go with the one that suits you best. Say, if you usually have a trimmed beard, grow a full beard 4-6 months prior to the wedding and shave gradually while trying out different styles. This way, you will have sufficient time to grow out your facial hair and mold it to whichever style you see fit.

  3. DON'T: WAIT UNTIL THE MORNING TO FIGURE OUT YOUR FACIAL HAIR.
No matter how tempting it can be, impulsive decision-making is not the best call at this point. We strongly suggest against choosing a facial hair style on the wedding day. At that point, even shaving can be a bit tricky since you might be left with little cuts, ingrown hair, or even rashes. At the very least, shave the day before so you can tackle any issues that might happen. Thinking ahead won't hurt anyone.

  4. DO: INVEST SOME TIME IN FACIAL HAIR GROOMING.
To look your best, take good care of your facial hair long before your wedding day. Things always look best when taken care of, after all. Don't treat shaving like a race. Take a few seconds to add water to your shaving cream for a smooth shave and pamper your beard and moustache with shampoo and conditioner once in a while.

  5. DON'T: UNDERESTIMATE INGROWN HAIR.
Ingrown hair might seem like a trivial matter, yet too many of it might ruin your facial hair situation. To make sure that your skin will be bump-free, put a hot towel on your face, disinfect the ingrown spots with alcohol, then go at it with tweezers. Taking care of ingrown hair properly will result in a smooth shave and neat facial hair, making you look like your best self for the wedding.

CHOOSING THE WEDDING SUIT.
Now for the part that you've been waiting for, the wedding suit. Some grooms struggle when looking for the formal wear that suits them the most on their wedding day.

We think that finding the right suit to marry in shouldn't come with so much pressure. Instead, it should be filled with excitement, since it is your wedding that you're going to celebrate. We bet, the quest of the perfect wedding suit will be a fun, instead of bothersome, task with these handy guidelines.

Get familiar with the basic types of formal menswear that you can wear on your wedding day.

SURVIVING BRIDEZILLA?

Read Now

Quick Six (6) Minute Read

Picture
  1. SMILE AND NOD.
Remember to Do what she wants, even if it's a little bit crazy. One day she may return the favor when you have your own bridezilla moment.

  2. THERE'S SAFETY IN NUMBERS.
Delegate the bride's demands to other bridesmaids, groomsmen and family members to help alleviate your own stress. This will also help divide the blame if things don't turn out the way your bridezilla planned. Try to include a sweet grandma or favorite aunt that she loves too much to yell at.

  3. NEGOTIATE.
When you can't meet all of your bridezilla's pricey demands, be ready to offer a cheaper alternative. Get your Aunt Sue, the seamstress, to alter your gowns rather than ordering custom-made. Host a shower at home rather than booking a banquet hall. Most importantly, make her think it was all her idea.

  4. ACT LIKE A DUCK.
Adopt a calm attitude and let her self-centered rants, petty demands and general craziness glide over you like water rolls off a fowl's feathers. If you don't absorb it, it can't hurt you. Vent to non-mutual friends about your crazy bridezilla to help lighten the emotional load.

  5. LISTEN.
Many normal brides turn into bridezilla because of the stress and crushing expectations of perfection. Give her the time to complain about her  demanding mother, interfering in-laws and incompetent florist. Offering a shoulder to cry on can help deflate the buildup of angst that makes her lash out at you and anyone else within a five-mile radius.

  6. DULL THE SENSES.
There's no need to break out the "Desperate Housewives" travel pack of Valium, but offer your bride a glass of wine or a giant box of chocolates to help improve her mood. Join her in a little indulgence, and you can dull your own pain as well.

  7. DISTRACT.
Set up a shopping spree, hiking trek or spa trip as far from the madness as possible. Declare a ceasefire on wedding planning and reminisce about your high school crushes or that lost weekend in Vegas instead.

  8. STAND YOUR GROUND.
You shouldn't be forced to take out a five-year loan to pay for your part in a destination wedding. Respect yourself and the bride will respect you too. Tell bridezilla you love her and will do everything in your power to make her day perfect, but diamond-encrusted Ferragamos aren't in your budget. And no, you can't make 50 centerpieces by tomorrow.

  9. INTERVENTION.
If you've been grinning through the pain for so long that you've ground your teeth to stubs, extreme measures may be necessary. Get all the injured parties together and calmly let the bride know how much she's crossed the line. Hopefully, she'll see the light when she hears it from every member of the bridal party. Keep the groom out of it in case she doesn't react well.

  10. PULL THE RIP CORD.
Sometimes a bridezilla goes too far, or the whole experience exposes giant cracks in an already-strained friendship. If you're constantly battered and abused, it's time to bail. And if a graceful exit isn't possible, just show up 20 minutes late for the cake tasting. The rest should happen naturally.

PLANNING ON A BUDGET?

Read Now

Quick Three (3) Minute Read

Picture
1. Determine The Kind of Wedding You Want.
When you picture your wedding, what do you see? A upscale reception at a downtown loft? A backyard barbecue with all your friends and family? A classic hotel ballroom reception?

If you need a little more inspiration, think about all the weddings you’ve been to, seen on TV, or scrolled through on the internet. What did you like—or not like—about them?

Don’t get hung up on the little details just yet. Instead, think about the overall feel you want your wedding to have. When it comes to planning a wedding on a budget, knowing your priorities matters.

2. Have The Wedding Budget Talk.
Everyone paying for the event (bride, groom and parents) needs to sit down and look at the total wedding budget. This might be your first experience budgeting with your future spouse as a team. Talk openly and honestly about how much you can spend—and how much you’re willing to spend—on your wedding is going to lay the groundwork for wonderful budget date nights once you’re married!

As uncomfortable as this budget talk might be, just remember—it’s a heck of a lot easier than starting your union in debt. When I say budget here, I’m not just talking about how much money you can spend total—I’m talking about how much you should spend in each specific area.

I suggest breaking the total wedding budget into categories and figuring out what percentage to devote to each:

  • Reception: 55%
  • Ceremony: 12%
  • Photography: 10%
  • Wedding Planner: 10%
  • Dress and Tux: 8%
  • Miscellaneous/Cushion: 5%

These aren’t set numbers; that’s just the ratio we at 4EVR feel. you should set your ratios based on what’s important to you. Maybe you’re willing to splurge on photos, but flowers don’t really matter to you. If you care more about one area than another, change up the percentages.

FIVE TIPS TO HELP STRESS!

Read Now

Quick Five (5) Minute Read

Picture
Wedding planning could be STRESSFUL! Saying yes to the dress is just a minute detail in the whole grand scheme of planning your wedding. To make the best out of planning your big day, we've covered 5 tips to reduce stress during what could be wedding mayhem:

  1. DEFINE SPECIFIC TIMES FOR WEDDING PLANNING.
As with anything stressful in life, you must be able to put aside your worries and concerns and take a breather. Set a defined time each week or each day dedicated to planning your wedding. Also, consider your partners schedule in order to find a perfect time that works best. This will allow you to completely focus on planning your special day. When that time is up, put everything aside and allow yourself to relax on all the bridal business and tend to other aspects of your life. Schedule a massage, sign up for a yoga class or whatever you normally do to ease your mind. Practicing this will help to compartmentalize the stresses of your planning yet still keep the ball rolling on all the wedding preparation.

  2. HAVE A SEPARATE CALENDAR.
Having a whole separate planner/schedule solely for your wedding planning is an absolute must to keep organized during all the mess. Working with 4EVR it allows you to keep all of your planning needs and calendar in one place. Preparing ahead and planning out dates, making to do lists, and checking things off will help to keep your head on your shoulders and your stress levels down. The more you plan out in advance, the more relaxed you will be closer to the big date!

  3. DON'T BE AFRAID TO DELEGATE.
A lot of wedding stress comes from the bride feeling overwhelmed with ALL the different hats she has to wear during the process. There are so many aspects that make up a wedding, and to relieve some of these stress-ors, it's crucial that you delegate some of these tasks. Your maid of honor plays a huge role in the process to help relieve you of some of those duties reasons why in most cases she is your best friend. Of course you want to be apart of every little detail, but to relieve stress, you can't possibly do it all. Delegate tasks like picking up items, ordering materials online, or dealing with unexpected problems with vendors. This will lift a lot off your plate, so you can focus on the big ticket decisions.

  4. REMEMBER, NOTHING AND NO ONE IS PERFECT.
It's easy to get wrapped up in all the details of the wedding, but you have to remember to keep realistic expectations. Nothing is perfect, and it's important to continuously step back from all the madness to keep things in perspective. When you're feeling overwhelmed or not everything is turning out how you envisioned it, take a break. Do something you love to do. Read a book. Go on a walk. Do anything else that will allow you to look at your wedding day from a different lens. Everything will come together in the end, and it's important to realize that not everything will turn out exactly how you envisioned--but usually better.

  5. STAY POSITIVE!
Every step of planning your wedding should be thought of positively. Be thankful for even the hectic and crazy times. When you look back, you'll realize that all those little moments, good and bad, are what made your wedding YOURS! In the end, it's about your future husband, your family and friends, and your future family. Keep a positive mindset throughout all the planning and enjoy even the little things that don't turn out so perfectly. Keeping a healthy attitude throughout the planning is what will make everything so special and memorable on your wedding day!

HOW TO SAVE FOR YOUR DAY!

Read Now

Quick Nine (9) Minute Read

Picture
Understand that with a great imagination and a experienced coordinator you can create a experience that will last 4EVR. — The latest numbers from XO group  pegged the average cost of a wedding in 2018 at $35,329.

This is another reason why selecting a great coordinator is important because they find ways to cut costs. Don’t give too much attention to averages but understand your personal budget. Yes, the U.S. average for a wedding looks a little pricey at face value, but CostofWedding.com estimates that most couples are going to spend less than $10,000, not including honeymoon expenses.

That’s more like it. Getting married is a beautiful and exciting milestone in many women’s lives, but there’s no shame in wanting to  to keep costs to a minimum.
If you need to trim the fat in your wedding budget, rethink these items that most wedding planners consider to be a total waste.

  1. THE FLOWERS
Flowers in a wedding may be nonnegotiable, but there are several workarounds to ensure that your fresh flowers don’t break your wedding bank. Identify colors, types of flowers, and also flowers that are similiar. You can find flowers that are affordable that may not be as popular as others but helps you cut costs. Moving flowers from the ceremony into the reception is a great way to maximize their use and get your money’s worth. Just make sure that if you’re paying your florist or coordinator to make the transition for you, it makes sense financially rather than paying for more flowers — sometimes, it’s better to enlist an organized friend/guest to help out with a few details.”

  2. THE EXTRAS
One of the biggest money-wasters Kimberly Morrill, owner of Your Perfect Bridesmaid, has seen in her six years helping couples plan their weddings is sweating the small stuff. “Couples tend to waste a lot of money (and time and stress) on tiny details that no one else notices,” Morrill says. “Couples see these details on Pinterest (usually from unattainable styled shoots), and they spend a ton of money trying to recreate. Details like custom cocktail napkins, signs for everything, favors no one wants, additional pieces of stationary, etc. Guests notice the food, the bar, the energy, the love between the couple. They truly don’t notice, and don’t care about, the Pinterest-perfect touches.”

Speaking of details, Anastasia Stevenson of “How to DIY Wedding” agrees that shelling out the big bucks on something as small as wedding favors is a bit much. “More often than not, we see at least two-thirds of the favors left at reception tables after the wedding. Guests are having a good time mingling and dancing and look at most favors as a useless encumbrance. The wise thing is to make sure they have a practical use or are something fun and theme-driven that everyone would want and are easily portable!” Stevenson suggests useful and inexpensive favors like edible favors or personalized drink koozies instead.

  3. THE WEDDING GOWN
While you may have your heart set on the picture-perfect gown, Katherine Oyer of Aisle Planner recommends making a detour before you head straight to the neighborhood bridal shop — and hitting up a sample sale instead. “At the end of each season, bridal salons and designers will typically sell their gowns ‘off the rack’ at a deeply discounted price. Brides will need to give each gown some extra time and attention while shopping to ensure there aren’t any un-fixable tears or major stains, but typically, most loose beading or threading issues can be taken care of during the alterations process. The money saved will be huge, and the best part — you can take your dress home that day!”

  4. THE WEDDING PROGRAM
This one’s a quickie but a goodie that could save you a few hundred dollars on your total budget. Oyer says it’s best to leave the program out completely if you are having a simple wedding since guests most likely won’t need a printed guide for the ceremony. “Most guests end up leaving their beautifully designed ceremony programs on their seats, leaving the couple with a pile of leftovers and wasted printing costs,” Oyer explains.

  5. THE WEDDING VENUE
If you’ve already tried pricing your wedding venue, then you’ve probably had at least one mini heart attack leading up to your wedding day. Michele Velazquez, owner of Pop The Knot, a pop-up wedding company created as an alternative to sky-high wedding venue costs, says, “The biggest thing brides waste their money on is the venue. Venues can be extremely expensive, as high as $30,000 and up. To get a better deal on the venue, the bride should try to book it during off-season or on a weekday. If the bride is open to a pop-up wedding — which is where the couple come in and have a quick ceremony with little or no set-up — this opens all kinds of doors for a very inexpensive venue.”

“A venue may allow her to have a pop-up wedding at 9 a.m. before their big wedding at noon, and the bride could get that $30,000 venue for $1,000,” Velasquez explains.

  6. HOW TO SAVE EVEN MORE
If your wedding budget still isn’t budging after considering these helpful tips, there’s a workaround for that, too. Velazquez recommends trying to combine services whenever possible to take advantage of wedding-friendly discounts. “There are many companies out there that offer discounts if you use their husband or wife for another service. For example, if you book an officiant and her husband is a photographer, they will offer you a discount if you book them both. There are a lot of businesses like that nowadays, which offer husband and wife teams and services like photo and video, officiant and photographer, etc.,” she says.
